EDUCATION

Education and community engagement are central to the mission of the Coachella Valley History Museum. We are proud to offer meaningful opportunities for students and families to learn, explore, and connect with history.

LEARN & EXPLORE

"Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another." - G. K. Chesterton

CVHM’s staff and volunteers are committed to preserving the Coachella Valley’s history by sharing it with the area’s youngest residents and their families through education and outreach, including our after-school Junior Historians Program and Young At Art Summer Camps.

For teachers, School Tours are the perfect way to engage young minds. Incorporate your in-class curriculum with hands-on experience. All tours are led by an experienced school tour docent who will educate and entertain in equal measure. Our Virtual Tours on YouTube are also a great way to enjoy an in-depth look at the history of the Coachella Valley, from the classroom or home, with presentations delivered by our kid-friendly docent team. Learn more about each of these programs below.

Young At Art Summer Camp
A creative summer experience for young artists ages 8–14. Each week focuses on a different visual art form, allowing students to explore techniques such as drawing, clay, watercolor, and multimedia art while developing their creativity in a fun and supportive environment.
Junior Historians
An engaging after-school program for children ages 8–11 that introduces students to world cultures, history, and creativity through hands-on art projects, activities, and interactive learning experiences.
