
The Coachella Valley History Museum is excited to welcome the community for a special Community Days weekend on May 2 and 3, featuring free admission, family-friendly experiences, and engaging activities for all ages.
As a thank you for the continued support from our community throughout the year, guests are invited to explore the museum’s exhibits and gardens at no cost while enjoying a weekend filled with creativity, wellness, local artistry, and Valley history.
Visitors can stroll through beloved museum spaces including the 1909 Schoolhouse, the Smiley-Tyler House, and the California Date History Museum, while also taking part in a variety of free events happening throughout the weekend.
The museum will be open Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
From grove to table, join us for a special Creative Speaker Series featuring Inez Tennebaum of San Marcos Date Farm. This Community Day program highlights the story of multi-generational farming and the traditions behind date cultivation, offering insight into the agricultural legacy that continues to shape the Coachella Valley. Guests will have the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with the history of the region through a personal and engaging perspective.
This engaging series features authors, filmmakers, artists, and other creatives whose unique works explore local history, regional identity, and the people who have shaped the Valley. Through thought-provoking conversations and inspiring presentations, guests will have the opportunity to connect with both local and national creators whose art and storytelling share a meaningful tie to the Coachella Valley.

Take a moment to relax, recharge, and connect with the beauty of our grounds during Community Yoga, led by SoulZenter. Whether you are an experienced yogi or simply looking for a relaxing way to connect with the community, this class offers a refreshing opportunity to slow down and enjoy the museum grounds.. Bring your mat, take a deep breath, and join us for a refreshing experience at the museum. All ages are welcome.

Led by local creative Nicole Trigg, this class blends thoughtful instruction with personal expression. Nicole’s intuitive approach to floral design encourages participants to see flowers not just as decoration, but as a way to tell a story, express emotion, and create lasting memories. Her welcoming teaching style makes the experience approachable for beginners while still inspiring for those with more experience.
This special Mother’s Day session will focus on creating arrangements that reflect themes of appreciation, beauty, and care—drawing inspiration from seasonal blooms and timeless design techniques. Participants will be guided step-by-step and will leave with their own completed arrangement to take home or gift.
Workshops are open to all skill levels, making it a perfect outing for families, friends, or anyone looking to celebrate the season in a creative and meaningful way.

Join us for a Creative Series orientation with Christopher Hooper, introducing a new monthly drawing class at the Coachella Valley History Museum. This free session is designed for those interested in developing their artistic skills, whether you are a beginner or returning to drawing. Christopher will walk through what to expect, materials, and how the class will be structured, followed by time for questions and connection.
