The Japanese Memorial Garden at the Coachella Valley History Museum was thoughtfully restored in 2021–2022, revitalizing the beauty and spirit of this important cultural treasure. This $40,000 renovation was made possible through the generosity of our community.

Junior Historians is a dynamic after-school program for children ages 8–11 who are curious about the world around them.Students “travel” across countries and cultures while discovering history, traditions, and stories from around the globe. Through fun, hands-on art projects, kids learn creatively while building curiosity, imagination, and a deeper appreciation for our diverse world.
DonateA creative and inspiring program where young artists can learn, experiment, and express themselves through art. Designed for children ages 8–14, this summer experience encourages creativity while introducing a variety of artistic styles and techniques. Through hands-on projects and guided instruction, campers explore new materials, develop their skills, and enjoy creating art in a supportive and engaging environment.

The The Empire Sunset will transform a 15,000-square-foot space on the northeast corner into a vibrant destination featuring drought-tolerant demonstration gardens and an immersive, interactive railway exhibit.
DonateThe Coachella Valley Historical Society, Inc. maintains an archive depository. History from the entire Coachella Valley is included. From newspapers and magazines, to business licenses and photographs, the archives house over 100 years of history.

Third grade classes are invited to visit the grounds with their students to take a tour of the Museum led by one of our knowledgeable and kid-friendly School Tour Docents.Visit the Blacksmith Shop and the Desert Submarine, and take a lesson in the 1909 Schoolhouse.
