April 2: Community Floral Arrangement Workshop: Ikebana

Step into the beauty of floral storytelling through our hands-on Floral Design Workshop Series. Each class invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and explore the art of arranging flowers in a way that reflects both history and personal expression.

Led by local creative Nicole Trigg of Botanical Verbiage, these workshops are designed to be both approachable and inspiring. From the simplicity and balance of Ikebana to the nostalgic charm of vintage-inspired arrangements, each session offers a unique theme rooted in culture, seasonality, and creativity.

Participants will be guided through design techniques and leave with their own completed arrangement.

Workshops are open to all skill levels.

April 8: Karaoke Factory

Get ready to grab the mic at Karaoke Factory, a fun-filled, family-friendly evening where singers of all ages — and even the shower-singers who swear they’re ready for the big stage — are invited to perform their favorite songs.

This lively event is all about music, laughter, and community! All ages are welcome.

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just feeling brave enough to sing one chorus, Karaoke Factory offers a welcoming space to let loose and have fun. This event is generously sponsored by Trypps, and food and drinks are provided by Dune Room, making it the perfect night out for the whole family.

April 11 & 12: Community Days

Admission is FREE!

Come enjoy our exhibits and gardens for free. It's our way of saying thank you for the support you show us throughout the year! Each Community Days weekend features new, exciting activities for the entire family and favorites like the 1909 Schoolhouse, the Smiley-Tyler House, and the California Date History Museum. The museum is open 10:00AM - 4:00PM on Saturday and 1:00PM - 4:00PM on Sunday.

April 11: Creator Speaker Series

This is a FREE EVENT.

The Creator Speaker Series celebrates the artists, storytellers, and visionaries whose work helps bring the history and culture of the Coachella Valley to life!

This engaging series features authors, filmmakers, artists, and other creatives whose unique works explore local history, regional identity, and the people who have shaped the Valley. Through thought-provoking conversations and inspiring presentations, guests will have the opportunity to connect with both local and national creators whose art and storytelling share a meaningful tie to the Coachella Valley.

When and Where : 10:00AM in Medjool Auditorium.

April 11: Community Yoga

This is a FREE EVENT.

Take a moment to relax, recharge, and connect with the beauty of our grounds during Community Yoga, led by SoulZenter. This free community class invites guests of all experience levels to enjoy a peaceful afternoon of movement and mindfulness in a welcoming setting. Bring your mat, take a deep breath, and join us for a refreshing experience at the museum. All ages are welcome.

When and Where: 1:00PM in Memorial Date Garden if weather permits, or Medjool Auditorium.

April 12: Desert Weavers & Spinners Demonstration

This is a FREE EVENT.

Join us for a special afternoon with the Desert Weavers & Spinners Guild, a local fiber arts community dedicated to preserving and sharing the traditions of hand-weaving, spinning, felting, and more.

Guild members will be on-site demonstrating their craft, offering visitors a chance to experience the artistry and skill behind these time-honored techniques. Known for their hands-on workshops and community outreach, the group brings generations of knowledge and creativity to life through live demonstrations and storytelling.

This is a unique opportunity to connect with local makers, learn about fiber arts, and see history in motion. All are welcome.

April 28: History Hunters

This is a FREE EVENT (donations accepted).

Come see what we're bringing out from the CVHM Archives! Join others who appreciate local history as much as you do at our monthly gathering of the History Hunters. Meetings are open to anyone, are FREE (donations accepted), and feature local history, artifacts from our Archives, and interesting guest speakers.

When and Where: 3:30 PM in Pioneer Hall.
