The Coachella Valley History Museum exists to preserve, share, and honor the stories of this Valley and the people who shaped it. In a region defined by growth, movement, and change, the museum serves as an anchor — a place where history is not only protected, but made accessible, relevant, and alive.
For longtime residents, the museum affirms that their lives, labor, and traditions matter. For newcomers, it provides context and connection — an invitation to understand the history they are now part of. Through education, programming, and preservation, the museum bridges generations and cultures while grounding the community in a shared sense of place.
The museum tells the story of the Coachella Valley through the lens of everyday life — families, workers, innovators, artists, and community builders whose contributions shaped the region over time. These stories remind us that history is not abstract; it is personal, lived, and still unfolding.
By offering exhibits, programs, and events that welcome people of all ages and backgrounds, the museum creates opportunities for learning, reflection, and connection — strengthening community ties across generations.
Preserving history is a shared responsibility. The museum’s work depends on collective stewardship — board leadership, staff, volunteers, members, partners, and donors working together to ensure that the Valley’s stories are preserved and shared with care.
When the community supports the museum, it invests in more than buildings or exhibits. It invests in education, cultural understanding, and a deeper sense of belonging for future generations.
and Past Trustee
Having served the Coachella Valley History Museum for more than a decade — first as a trustee and now as Director of Strategic Partnerships & Development — I have seen firsthand the museum’s impact on individuals, families, and the broader community.
The museum holds space for stories that might otherwise be forgotten. Supporting this institution means honoring the people who came before us while creating opportunities for connection, learning, and reflection today.
I invite the community to engage with the museum through membership, participation, partnership, and philanthropy, and to help ensure that our shared history continues to be preserved and shared with integrity, care, and heart.
